:::5S = slow 5x?:::

i read “A Different Chinese” by CQ while doing my long-postponed ethnic relation assignment and i found sth that i want to share. nothing big though.
remember the Look East Policy or in Malay term called Dasar Pandang ke Timur? It was a concept of learning from the Japanese or Koreans in respect of their discipline and enthusiasm. For instance, the Japanese are well-known with their punctuality and how fast they walk. Now, the government sectors have this new policy that is 5S (also adopted from the Japanese lifestyle)- this is what really annoys my dad and thus becomes the main topic being discussed whenever we go for raya visit.

But, do the situations change? Do all the workers come to work on time? Do they go back after work a lil bit late? The procedures to apply a passport for example, can it be completed in one day? It can if your dad is one of the immigration officers. I can get a passport within 20 minutes. Others have to wait for 2 weeks. Why is it so slow? What about bribery and dishonesty? Did these situations change? If yes, will the situation remain after the policy ends? My pessimistic mind says no. Even the answer for the first question will be no as well.

CQ wrote, Malaysians are only speedy when it comes to driving, turning into a sharp corner with high speed without using indicator signals. Sounds common to you? It is to me. This is proven by the report of OPS Sikap Raya 2009. Up till last night, the number of road accidents has reached 208.

But when it comes to work? See around the government offices, banks, hotels or anywhere else where there are working people - they dont only work slow, they also walk slow..... Even the students walk so slow.. Completing the assignments is also done in a slow pace (hehe~). Even ***** waktu nak naik atas pentas to give the scroll to the students pun...... mak aih...

Semua pun slow. So, this is all that i can write sebab nak kena siapkan assignment CEPAT-CEPAT.
