all of sudden, i become one of the candidates to represent usim in mooting competition. there are two competitions actually. one is jessup, another one is IHL. it was after miss fadhlina, our law lecturer called me last monday. well, i did agree to join although i was quite reluctant as i know things will not gonna be easy. if debate is already difficult - i've experienced it before during tamhidi, mooting would be way way harder - from what i learnt during the mooting workshop n the real jessup competition i attended... but i dont think staying in the comfort zone can bring me anywhere. besides, joining mooting will benefit a law student a lot, either during study or after graduation. so, i think, why shouldnt i give it a try?
this wednesday we're going to do the presentation of facts. so, hopefully, i will be selected as one of the researchers for jessup competition. mooter..? ermm, i think i am not yet qualified.
just to share information; mooting is an extracurricular activity at many law school in which participants take part in simulated court proceedings, usually to include drafting briefs and participating in oral argument. The modern activity differs from a "mock trial", as moot court usually refers to a simulated appellate court or arbitral case, while a "mock trial" usually refers to a simulated jury trial or bench trial. Moot court does not involve actual testimony by witnesses or the presentation of evidence
