:::5S = slow 5x?:::

i read “A Different Chinese” by CQ while doing my long-postponed ethnic relation assignment and i found sth that i want to share. nothing big though.
remember the Look East Policy or in Malay term called Dasar Pandang ke Timur? It was a concept of learning from the Japanese or Koreans in respect of their discipline and enthusiasm. For instance, the Japanese are well-known with their punctuality and how fast they walk. Now, the government sectors have this new policy that is 5S (also adopted from the Japanese lifestyle)- this is what really annoys my dad and thus becomes the main topic being discussed whenever we go for raya visit.

But, do the situations change? Do all the workers come to work on time? Do they go back after work a lil bit late? The procedures to apply a passport for example, can it be completed in one day? It can if your dad is one of the immigration officers. I can get a passport within 20 minutes. Others have to wait for 2 weeks. Why is it so slow? What about bribery and dishonesty? Did these situations change? If yes, will the situation remain after the policy ends? My pessimistic mind says no. Even the answer for the first question will be no as well.

CQ wrote, Malaysians are only speedy when it comes to driving, turning into a sharp corner with high speed without using indicator signals. Sounds common to you? It is to me. This is proven by the report of OPS Sikap Raya 2009. Up till last night, the number of road accidents has reached 208.

But when it comes to work? See around the government offices, banks, hotels or anywhere else where there are working people - they dont only work slow, they also walk slow..... Even the students walk so slow.. Completing the assignments is also done in a slow pace (hehe~). Even ***** waktu nak naik atas pentas to give the scroll to the students pun...... mak aih...

Semua pun slow. So, this is all that i can write sebab nak kena siapkan assignment CEPAT-CEPAT.

:::going back:::

blogging frm lcct. alhamdulillah, finally im going back to kuching although it has only been three months since the last time i slept in my own bedroom. im going back for raya celebration but i think i brought more books than clothes that im going to wear during eid. bkn nak tunjuk rajin kt dpn mak ye~

i know im not going to enjoy this eid to the fullest since there are a lot of assignments uncompleted cum revision for syariah. but the thing is, i want to get way from all the things that bother me all this while. i just want to go home. leaving the stress behind.

and i hope after coming back from eid, i can regain my strength and spirit that seem to fade away ever since i entered SMSU.

ok, dah kena beratur kat pintu berlepas :)

:::stress ngan koir:::

if i have decided not to go, it really means that I'm not going. If I have decided not to join choir anymore, then thats it. i have my own reasons.

so dont try to force me to participate in choir and ask me to go to the practices by saying that it is compulsory or whatsoever. u dont even have the authority to say that. when i said i'm busy, it means that i have a lot more things to do than u. so,

DONT FORCE ME!!!

coz, im not going and ure wasting ur time. dont blame me if u noe the reasons why i dont want to join it anymore. THE END.

:::mooting:::

all of sudden, i become one of the candidates to represent usim in mooting competition. there are two competitions actually. one is jessup, another one is IHL. it was after miss fadhlina, our law lecturer called me last monday. well, i did agree to join although i was quite reluctant as i know things will not gonna be easy. if debate is already difficult - i've experienced it before during tamhidi, mooting would be way way harder - from what i learnt during the mooting workshop n the real jessup competition i attended... but i dont think staying in the comfort zone can bring me anywhere. besides, joining mooting will benefit a law student a lot, either during study or after graduation. so, i think, why shouldnt i give it a try?

this wednesday we're going to do the presentation of facts. so, hopefully, i will be selected as one of the researchers for jessup competition. mooter..? ermm, i think i am not yet qualified.

just to share information; mooting is an extracurricular activity at many law school in which participants take part in simulated court proceedings, usually to include drafting briefs and participating in oral argument. The modern activity differs from a "mock trial", as moot court usually refers to a simulated appellate court or arbitral case, while a "mock trial" usually refers to a simulated jury trial or bench trial. Moot court does not involve actual testimony by witnesses or the presentation of evidence (source:wikipedia)

how moot court looks like...

:::choir in usim:::

if u ask me if i like to sing or i like music. yeah, i am but not till the extent that I'll say "music is my passion" or "music is my life" bla bla bla.... so, maybe that's one of the reason why i joined choir. wasnt the main reason though.

at first, i thought it's ok to join choir in terms of time and Islamic perspective (since we're singing in groups). but little did i know that it wasnt perfectly ok. i realized this when i joined the choir club for the performance at usim convocation ceremony which marked my last performance EVER... except the sooo-last-minute merdeka performance at the hostel. IT WAS HELL.

i'm writing this coz there will be another choir practice tomorrow night becoz, i dunno, some say we have to perform, dunno when and where and i was informed that the attendance is compulsory. YEAH, who cares? I do not want to go coz I do not want to perform anymore. the END.

why? from my experience, either what happened to me or what I observed ever since tamhidi until now, the usim performers (the students or maybe the staffs as well..) will not resemble the title of the university as an ISLAMIC university. okay fine if usim wants to have acting club or singing club or anything to do with performing arts, but still, all must have limitations right? I'm talking about the limitations stipulated in Islam...

actually, one of the reason why I do not want to join any performance in usim anymore is the outfit. come on, i noe we have to be pretty but we still have to keep the aurah. enough with the shame I've had during that convocation day. the other reason is of course is the time. we have practices on sunday night and some other nights too. but i have more other important things to do.

and that includes titas assignment. ok i should continue with that.

:::thank You:::

time tgh2 boring buat assignment titas, tetibe dpt plak inspiration to compose another song. haha~ lately ive been so into this thing. it is just for fun.. well, the other two songs Seruanku (the one in the previous post) and Indahnya Ramadhan werent composed for fun though. but still, i enjoyed doing the lyrics and finding the melody.

part nak record je tak bes... sbb tak record lagi and next week dah kene anta.. huhu~
procrastination kills.

anyway, here are the other two songs.

"Indahnya Ramadhan"

Bulan Ramadhan bulan mulia
Penuh barakah oh indahnya
Hanya insan terpilih sahaja merasakannya

* Tiada waktu seistimewanya
Tiada lainnya tiada yang sama
Setahun sekali ia tiba
Itulah Ramadhan

c/o Ramadhan
pada awalnya rahmah
dan ditengahnya dikurnia maghfirah
dan di akhir kita dianugerahkan
dengan pembebasan dari api neraka
dan itu janjiNya

Ulang * dan c/o

lirik: nsdahlia
lagu: nsdahlia, alia diana, aisyah zarra

"Thank You"

I woke up from bed this early morning
Just to see the lovely sky is still blue
It always give me a better feeling
so I thank You

I walk along the river bank
You're not there but I feel I'm with You
as I know I still have the strength
So I'm grateful

And I say I thank You
For always being here with me
when sadness is all I feel
and I thank You
For always being here with me
through my ups and downs
when nobody is around

I woke up from bed this early morning
Just to see that the lovely sky is still blue
It always give me a better feeling
So I thank You.
